The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky with its constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 They sat by it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 As for the righteously striving believers, they will live in Paradise wherein streams flow. This is the greatest triumph. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
