The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Surely the might of your Lord is great. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
