The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 And by the Day promised, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 When they sat by it, 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
