The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 by the promised day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 while they sat around it, 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise! 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Surely the might of your Lord is great. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
