The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 By the Promised Day! 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 They sat by it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Indeed the seizure of your Lord is very severe. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 Whereas Allah is, from behind them, Encompassing. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
