The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 The piercing star! 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
