The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
