The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And no trifle. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and so am I: 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
