The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
