The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
