The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
