The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the piercing star. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
