The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And no trifle. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
