The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
