The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
