The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and so am I: 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
