The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
