The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And no trifle. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
