The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 who created and shaped, 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 who brings forth green pasture, 4 Then makes it dried up, dust-colored. 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 unless God wills it to be otherwise. He knows all that is made public and all that remains hidden. 7 We shall ease you to the easy. 8 Therefore do remind, surely reminding does profit. 9 and he who fears shall remember, 10 But the wretched one will avoid it - 11 who will enter the Great Fire, 12 in which he will neither die nor live therein. 13 He is successful who groweth, 14 And who mentioned the name of his Lord, then offered prayer. 15 Nay, but you prefer the present life; 16 Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 Surely this is in the ancient scrolls, 18 the scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
