Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26

(5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
