Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
