Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 raised couches, 13 Goblets set, 14 cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
