Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 in a garden sublime, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 And chosen goblets. 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
