Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 therein uplifted couches 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and arranged cushions 15 and carpets outspread. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
