Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 cushions ranged, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 you are not their keeper. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
