Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a Garden on high, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And the heaven how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
