Al-Shams
The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sun and its noon-time brightness, 1 And [by] the moon when it follows it 2 by the day when it brightens the earth, 3 By the Night as it conceals it; 4 by the heavens and that (Power) which established them, 5 and by the earth and how He spread it, 6 by the soul and Who shaped it 7 and inspired it with knowledge of evil and piety, 8 prosperous is he who purified it, 9 And miserable is he who hath buried it. 10 The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness 11 When the basest of them broke forth 12 And the messenger of Allah said: It is the she-camel of Allah, so let her drink! 13 However, they rejected him and slew her. So their Lord completely destroyed them and their city for their sins. 14 And He feared not the consequence thereof 15
God the Almighty always says the truth.
