Al-Shams

The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

By the sun and its midmorning, 1 And [by] the moon when it follows it 2 and by the day as it displays the sun's glory, 3 By the Night as it conceals it; 4 By the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure; 5 and the earth and all its expanse! 6 by the soul and how He formed it, 7 and imbued it with (the consciousness of) its evil and its piety: 8 He is indeed successful who causeth it to grow, 9 And he is indeed a failure who stunteth it. 10 Thamood cried lies in their insolence 11 Behold, the most wicked man among them was deputed (for impiety). 12 Then the apostle of Allah said unto them: beware of the she-camel of Allah and her drink. 13 But they called him a liar and hamstrung her. So God obliterated them for their crime, and (destroyed) all of them alike. 14 And for Him is no fear of its consequences. 15

God the Almighty always says the truth.
