Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 They do not expect any reward 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
