The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 They do not expect any reward 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
