The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
