The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
