The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the night when it covers 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 They do not expect any reward 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Almighty God's Truth.
