The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 Will surely be gratified. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
