The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 and believes in the finest, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
