Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
