And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. 80 And We gave them Our communications, but they turned aside from them; 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure. 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 (Of a punishment) Like the one We sent down upon the dividers. 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 So, by your Lord (O Muhammad SAW), We shall certainly call all of them to account. 92 For that which they have been working. 93 Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
