The Night (Al-Layl)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 And the day resplendent 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
