The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
