The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And accepts the best, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
