Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night as it envelops; 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
