The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the glorious morning light; 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 and the Last shall be better for thee than the First. 4 And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan, and shelter thee? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 Did He not find you poor and suffice you? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness, 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 and proclaim the bounty of your Lord. 11
