Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

By the midday brightness 1 and by the night when it covers, 2 (O Prophet), your Lord has neither forsaken you, nor is He displeased. 3 The reward in the next life will certainly be better for you than worldly gains. 4 Verily your Lord will soon give you so amply that you will be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and then gave you shelter? 6 Did He not find you perplexed, and show you the way? 7 Did He not find thee needy, and suffice thee? 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 And as for him who asks, do not chide (him), 10 and of thy Sustainer's blessings shalt thou [ever] speak. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
