The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the glorious morning light; 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 The Last shall be better for you than the First. 4 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him). 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 but proclaim the blessings of your Lord. 11
