And recall what time thou settedst forth from thy household early to settle believers in positions for the fight. And Allah is Hearing, Knowing. 121 Recall what time two sections of you bethought that they should flag whereas Allah was the Patron of the twain. In Allah, then, let the believers trust. 122 Allah had already given you the victory at Badr, when ye were contemptible. So observe your duty to Allah in order that ye may be thankful. 123 Remember when you said to the faithful: "Is it not sufficient that your Lord should send for your help three thousand angels from the heavens? 124 Certainly, if you have patience and piety, even if the enemy attacks immediately after this, God will help you with another force of five thousand angels, all splendidly (and or distinctly marked) dressed. 125 And God did not do so but as good tidings for you, and to reassure your hearts for victory comes from God alone, the all-mighty and all-wise -- 126 That He may cut: off a portion of those who disbelieve, or abase them so that they may go back disappointed. 127 You have no concern in the affair whether He turns to them (mercifully) or chastises them, for surely they are unjust. 128 To God belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. He may forgive or punish whomever He wants. God is All-forgiving and All-merciful. 129
