The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or orders piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
