The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
