The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
