The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
