The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
